If not you, who?
“For men’s hearts are just like the soil that drinks up the showers which often fall upon it. Some soil will yield crops as God’s blessing upon the field. But if the field continues to produce only thorns and thistles a curse hangs over it and it will be burned. Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are fully convinced that there are more beautiful and excellent things, which flow from your salvation. For God, the Faithful One, is not unfair. How can he forget the beautiful work you have done for him? He remembers the love you demonstrate as you continually serve his beloved ones for the glory of his name. But we long to see you passionately advance until the end and you find your hope fulfilled. So don’t allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith and patient endurance.” Hebrews 6:7-12 - TPT
“This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you. No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends. You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. This [is what] I command you: that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another.” John 15:12-17 – AMP
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8 NAS
Jesus asks us, in the “Great Commission” (see Matthew 28:18-20), to make disciples of all the nations.
We are not left to our own abilities to help people come to Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us by leading us as to what to do. He tells us when the time is right because He has gone before us and prepared their heart to hear the “say something” He wants us to say. He may ask us to share Jesus with someone that has never heard that Jesus died to save them from hell and live eternally with their Father in heaven. Or that, the Holy Spirit wants to live inside them to work the miracles Jesus did, or to be “moved with compassion” to hear their soul wound and guide them back to Him. He is faithful to work in and through us as we yield to Him.
Ezekiel 47
“Then he [my guide] brought me back to the door of the house [the temple of the Lord ]; and behold, water was flowing from under the threshold of the house (temple) toward the east, for the front of the temple was facing east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar. Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate by the way of the gate that faces east. And behold, water was spurting out from the south side [of the gate]. When the man went out toward the east with a measuring line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits, and he led me through the water, water that was ankle-deep. Again, he measured a thousand [cubits] and led me through the water, water that was knee-deep. Again, he measured a thousand [cubits] and led me through the water, water reaching the hips. Again, he measured a thousand [cubits]; and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed [by wading]. And he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me back to the bank of the river. Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then he said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the Arabah (the Jordan Valley); then they go toward the sea, being made to flow into the sea, and the waters of the Dead Sea shall be healed and become fresh. It will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the river goes, will live. And there will be a very great number of fish, because these waters go there so that the waters of the sea are healed and become fresh; so, everything will live wherever the river goes. And it will come about that fishermen will stand beside it [at the banks of the Dead Sea]; from Engedi to Eneglaim there will be dry places to spread nets. Their fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great [Mediterranean] Sea. But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh [and wholesome for animal life]; they will [as the river subsides] be left encrusted with salt. By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They shall bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:1-12 – AMP
Peshitta Holy Bible Translation
“And he said to me: “These waters that go to Galilee to the east and go down to the north, and they go down into the Sea into stagnant water, and they sweeten the waters”. Ezekiel 47:12.
“Then he cried to the Lord [for help], and the Lord showed him a tree, [a branch* of] which he threw into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There the Lord made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, saying, “If you will diligently listen and pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep [foremost in your thoughts and actively obey] all His precepts and statutes, then I will not put on you any of the diseases which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:25-26 - AMP
*Branch = Jesus. This is called typology.
The word “Lord” here in the Hebrew is Jehovah Rapha which means “The Lord who heals.”
Here is the simplest list I found on how to walk someone through receiving Jesus as their savior. There are many lists, but I think the simpler we keep it the more we can hear the Holy Spirit talk to us and guide us as to what to say to each person individually.
