FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

November 3, 2021

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature together with its passions and appetites.”

Galatians 5:22-24 - AMP

<<Another translation>>

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Galatians 5:22-26 - KJV

“But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile]. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness (spiritual maturity) is sown in peace by those who make peace [by actively encouraging goodwill between individuals].”

James 3:17-18 - AMP

Fruits of The Holy Spirit are not only characteristics of the likeness of God, but they are characteristics we are to pour out onto others as He did. WE are also giving Him a gift through developing and walking in the fruits of the spirit. Who hasn’t been blessed by one of their children emulating a good trait that they have been trying to develop within them? The gift of our dying to self and being obedient brings joy to The Lord.

  1. Oranges: Love. “Son kissed”. A play on the brand Sunkist oranges.

“The secret [of the wise counsel] of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning.” Psalm 25:14 - AMP

“but, showing graciousness and steadfast lovingkindness to thousands [of generations] of those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:6 - AMP

The communion we have with our Lord and Savior will bring us into His confidence and He will share mysteries with us to the extent that we love and trust Him.

Love is the most powerful weapon in God’s arsenal.

LOVE WINS EVERY TIME!

  1. Peaches: Joy. A sense of well-being. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy. We are the Lord’s joy. Frankincense is a symbol of joy in the Bible. Numbers 5:15.

“Splendor and majesty are [found] in His presence; Strength and joy are [found] in His place (sanctuary).”

1 Chronicles 16:27 - AMP

“Then Ezra said to them, “Go [your way], eat the rich festival food, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be worried, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and your stronghold.”

Nehemiah 8:10 - AMP

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12 - AMP

  1. Apples: Peace. Health. Freedom from disturbing thoughts or emotions. We are the apple of the Lord’s eye. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

“Keep me [in Your affectionate care, protect me] as the apple of Your eye; Hide me in the [protective] shadow of Your wings.” Psalm 17:8 - AMP

“For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After glory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you—for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.”

Zechariah 2:8 - AMP

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The [wonderful] grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” Romans 16:20 - amp.

“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]”  John 14:27 - AMP

  1. Pears: Patience. You can’t walk in peace if you don’t have patience.

“But as for that seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and noble heart, and hold on to it tightly, and bear fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15 – AMP

“[we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy;”. Colossians 1:11 - AMP

  1. Tomato: Kindness. Big hearted and very generous. Lots of seeds too. If you sow kindness you will have harvest in all directions.**

“She opens her mouth in [skillful and godly] wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue [giving counsel and instruction].” Proverbs 31:26 - AMP

**“Just as the Scriptures say about the one who trusts in him: Because he has sown extravagantly and given to the poor, his kindness and generous deeds will never be forgotten. This generous God who supplies abundant seed for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you. First he supplies every need, plus more. Then he multiplies the seed as you sow it, so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.”** 2 Corinthians 9:9-10 - TPT

  1. Strawberry: goodness - excellent virtue, healing virtue. The woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and goodness, healing came out of her. When people touch you does healing come out of you?

“Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.” Psalm 23:6 - AMP

“Personally I am convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, amply filled with all [spiritual] knowledge, and competent to admonish and counsel and instruct one another.” Romans 15:14 - AMP

  1. Grapes: faithfulness, loyalty, saying no to the options that are not of the Lord. Grapes grow on a vine. Vines represent strength. The vine pumps life to the branches. And the branches hold the fruits. “I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit]. You are already clean because of the word which I have given you [the teachings which I have discussed with you]. Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples. I have loved you just as the Father has loved Me; remain in My love [and do not doubt My love for you]. If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.” John 15:1-11 - AMP

“What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it? Far from it! Rather, God must prove to be true,…”. Romans 3:3-4a - NASB

  1. Banana: gentleness, soft hearted, very sweet, full of potassium. Big hearted, strength. Hallucinations can be caused by lack of potassium.

“If the temper of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place [or show a resisting spirit]; for gentleness and calmness prevent or put a stop to great offenses.” Ecclesiastes 10:4

This verse goes along with helping us stay out of the offense Matthew 24:10-14 warns us about.

“He must correct those who are in opposition with courtesy and gentleness in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and be led to the knowledge of the truth [accurately understanding and welcoming it],”. 2 Timothy 2:25 - AMP

  1. Grapefruit: Self-control. Having control over emotions. Having the ability to be both sweet and sour. Sweet in keeping focused on the Lord and sour in the putting to death our own flesh.

“For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. It has trained us to reject and renounce all godliness (irreligious) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,”. Titus 2:11-12 AMPC

“Women must likewise be worthy of respect, not malicious gossips, but self-controlled, [thoroughly] trustworthy in all things.” 1 Timothy 3:11 - AMP

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” 2 Timothy 1:7 - AMP

May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 - GNT

Seeds predict what kind of harvest you will have.

Righteousness inspires these fruits in those that embrace it.

Ask for a specific fruit for Him to develop in you.

It is easier to work on one or two at a time than to try to develop them all at the same time and get overwhelmed.
